Milk and Fear

by Lord Dredd - Not entered

In thoughts from visions of the night,
When men are not awake.
My Fear it found me sleeping there,
And made my bones to shake.

It called to me and I called back,
"Are you the god of war?"
It smiled and said in Fear's own voice,
"You know who you are."

And when I woke to my own bed,
His name did, there, I call.
I looked around and there I found
His face upon my wall.

The lightning struck and changed my world.
The Fear I knew was near.
I knew because throughout my mind,
His laughter I could hear.

I opened up the Word of God,
And read it loud and clear,
"This land on which we make our home,"
"Is the land of milk and Fear."
