FootSteps

by Erin Pisces - Not entered

Footsteps

Footsteps
echoing down the hall
their mournful sound
vibrates the walls of my heart
I shake
wait for the sound of you to pass
I wait
To know your truly gone.

Heart races
Anticipating the silence
bridges burned
movement ceased by crossfire
loud
Screaming across my heart
I wait
To feel you truly gone.

Time passes
whispers further away
Time rears her head
in Fury
To late, to far gone
Swallowed,
by distance
I wait
and know this time your really gone.
