The Web

by Thomas Fortenberry - Not entered

The easiest way to understand life today

Lies jacked in through doors of tech:

A mirrored world of illusion

Virtually identical and yet absolute

In its perversion of reality

Wherein lie the keys of reason

For by experience we see the light

Of life necessary to grow by

Diversity the Tao of the world

Which preaches salvation

Keeping us all focused, alive

In an electron sea of nubulous novae

Technobabble erecting there a Tower

Of Man to man illusively elusive

Deconstructed in a nano-second night

Aive with the borealis of thought

This cyberial dimension ante-diluvial

Yet product and source of the Deluge

Of information air and power water

The electromagnetic fire of a worldmind

Nonexistent, but existing only

In our minds a way clear

An open door to other realities

Dimensions unknown, domains unexplored

Which is as it should be

A lesson, a path, a gateway

To understanding.

Reason for writing:

The phenomenon of the World Wide Web itself.
