Far across the sea it lies She cannot reach it, yet she tries It’s a place where she’s heard That never is spoken a negative word Her life is full of strife and tension And many other things too horrible to mention She dreams of a simpler way A life where she’ll have a say Love and honor are not given to her Her place in life is left unsure Hope is a light glowing so deep From her soul it will seep It’s not her style to turn away She knows her fears and plans her way There is another life for her to know But for now she watches her children grow Patience becomes her mortal cry And in her mind she will always try
