LOVE'S BLOSSOM

by Tina - Virgo - Not entered

New life sprouted from the dry cracked earth....
a timid small vine anxious for existence

The vine grew patiently,
Wending it's way through the maze of thorns left from the past.

Nurtured with attention, a small bud formed
a show of faith in a promise of life

Daily, the bloom grew
Revealing more of itself and it's beautiful possibilities

Finally, trusting in the future, the blossom burst forth exquisitely, relishing the sunlight.
It's petals soft and sweet and wondrous to behold.

Then, an unexpected cold snap
Withering the rose and leaving behind more thorns.

Reason for writing:

Lying awake in the middle of the night.....dreaming (with my eyes open) of the one who said he loved me, convinced my heart to take a chance, then changed his mind.
