A Paradox II (The Sequel) (c)

by Jay (Aries) - Not entered

Unconditional means without conditions or limitations; absolute
On the surface this seems reasonable, not something you would dispute.
The dictionary cites as in demanded unconditional surrender
Stop, look and listen; this appears to be a mind bender.
To demand is to impose or imply a condition
Do you suppose the definition should be viewed with suspicion?

To demand is to require, but how can this be
Either we have conditions or we don't, a dichotomy?
Maybe it's all in how we tend to view things that we are told
Some never question, for authority figures are to be extolled.
When something becomes defined
Do we just accept what is written with our mind blind?

What is being written is wrong, some will say
What about a Mother's Love for her child, each and every day?
Interesting question, one which cannot be readily proved
For if a hideous crime the child did commit, would the Mother's Love be unmoved?
Even the Great Masters, in their teachings on how to we should live
In my opinion, did not intend for us to condone someone being abusive.

It's time we open our hearts to see what it is we talk
Rather than living with our eyes closed, about life we gawk.
It would be great, it would be wondrous, if we could live without conditions
Then maybe we could get beyond games of control, domination and manipulation.
We hear people talk about unconditional this and that, most every day
It's sort of sad for many times we have no real concept about the things we say.

What really matters in this Great Universal Blue-Green Ball on which we all travel
Is not so much what we say, but how we conduct ourselves, our Cosmic Gravel.
Return to the words of the Great Masters, glean the concepts of what they have said
Formulate your own code of values, don't be part of the blind leading the dead.
Open your mind's heart, by your own choice get beyond how another treats you
Stop wallowing in self-pity, being a victim of the past, for that is long overdue.

Unconditional or conditional, what real meaning exists in how we live our life
If we could learn to treat others with consideration instead of inflicting pain and strife.
Rather than imposing unconditional on others, on yourself this thing do place
Then live your life, these non-existing conditions with love, for you to embrace.
Now, evaluate your own feeling and emotions, live in this space and time
Are you unconditional? Or have you created a life from the Cosmic Pits of Hell and Slime?

So it is Written ...
So it is ...
