I see you look at her like you used to look at me of my feelings I am sure butI have to set you free I ask you if you want to go and let my hopes rise then I see your eyes - you begin to say no- but please, don't ever tell me lies don't tell me when you're in my arms you're not dreaming about her you're thinking about all her charms- do you make her purr? don't tell me when you're out with me that I have your full attention sometimes I wish I'd let it be.... and did I forget to mention- I love you with all my soul but to stay with you's not wise you're tryin' to keep me whole- don't worry-I'll live-you can leave- but please, don't ever tell me lies...

I wrote this after watched a friend break up with her husband, who had been seeing someone else. He had stopped
loving my friend, but felt enough for her not to want her hurt, so he lied to her.
