Journey Of Life

by infinity - Not entered

It's amazing how easy life can be,
As we stand in a crowd with nothing to see.
The murderous acts of a sinner we know;
The man, God-starved, no love we can show.

Riding the bus, on my way home,
A melancholy man sat, all alone.
He said he'd been beaten and robbed down the way;
The man sat and I watched, just an arms reach away.

One day I had money, I went to the store,
I passed a homeless man, my eyes to the floor.
He lived off of charity from people passing his way;
I passed without heart, just an arms reach away.

We swim through a world, where all people drowned,
We watch in discomfort, but utter no sound;
No friendly gesture, no words to say,
We sit and we watch, just an arms reach away.

The world is amiss, we are all blind,
I have many questions, but the answers I can't find.
What can I do, when I feel myself go astray,
Who is that person, just an arms reach away?

In the past we were lost, just as we are now.
We're sinking under; who can save us and how?
We need hope, we need someone to stay,
Someone who's always there, just an arms reach away.

Reason for writing:

    My theology teacher played us a song in class and
eventually this came about
