Time Flies

by infinity - Not entered

Time, the Joker, has fun with you
But you just stare into the distance.
I mean, what else is there for you to do?
Besides sit and wait for it to pass.

You try to control him, but you are weak.
You owned the world the other day
But now you find that time owns you.
I know you're sad, but it can't be helped.

You've lived and ruled in a world
                       The is just Three-Dimensional.
Now you found another, a Fourth,
And you're left to wonder what will come next.

Birth and Death you both have seen
                        But still you cannot conceive,
                        The extent of our antagonist,
                       The domain of you conqueror.

He knows you. You know him.
Staring face to face you shake hands
But still you cannot overcome him,
Not even if he let you go.

Sure he may tease you, tempt you.
                      Offer you freedom of comformity.
                            But once off the path
The resounding bells will mock you.

In the end you never win.
In the end you never escape.
In the end there is no justice
                           Except what he decides
                          As he governs his world,
                            As he reigns supreme.

Reason for writing:

For a class we were given the topic of time and we had to
