I Remember You

by Luciene Borowik - Not entered

I REMEMBER YOU

I remember you turning your head to uncover me.
Eager to know what I was thinking, doing, dreaming.
I remember you touching my skin like tracing a treasure in the dark.
I remember you coming up grinning and laughing as you had just found out your place,
shelter, home. On top of me.
Your top of the world.
I remember you glancing me without having what to say.
I remember you saying what you didn't mean.
I remember you meaning mean.
I remember you facing the danger of our day after day.
I remember your greatness with the smallest trifle of me.
I remember me being yours.
I remember your presents yarning my past.
I remember my sense of duty.
I remember your sense of humor.
I remember the best of worst.
And the worst already forgiven.
I've got to remember what else
in my heart remains
untouched.
I remember me remembering you.
I remember knowing the answer
to our promises.
I remember we promised no promises.
I remember me telling you're lying.
You remember my disguises
to your decoys.
I remember loving you
to save my own life.
I remember I said I hated you.
I remember you revenging.
I remember not remembering our precious silences,
like I remember them now.
Do you remember?
Can you remember?
Could you?
I know I said I would forget you.
Could you just pretend I lied?

Reason for writing:

Have you ever made a mistake? Yes? Then, try and fix it.
