There’s an Angel on the Way

by Franko - Not entered

There’s an Angel on the Way

In the bone yards like Calcutta
where the wretched masses dwell
an Angel came to hold the hands
of those who live in hell
in this place beyond all charity
you’d find her at her best
hugging the untouchables
the unwashed and the unblessed

She passed by all the roses
though she loved the roses too
it was the touch me nots, that touch her most
for they are flowers too
she was a cradle for the motherless
and those without a voice
For those that never stood a chance
and those without a choice

Though the world is a little bit
darker today
we all get to visit
but nobody gets to stay
let your heroes come to greet her
bring the stars for her bouquet
even heaven will improve this night
there an Angel on the way

Reason for writing:

A saint this day passed away and a princess got the press.
