The Dolphins

by Martin Rogers - Taurus - Not entered

I stand on a rock overlooking the ocean at sunset,
The orange radiance sending peace,
Tranquility,
And serenity over me
As I stand above the sea.
I am one,
I am my own person,
Yet I am unified with all.
I see two dolphins below me,
A pair gliding and jumping across the waters.
They bring me feelings of happiness,
Joy,
Purity,
Beauty,
And love.
I imagine myself with the dolphins,
Swimming and jumping in sync with them,
Knowing there are no problems,
No troubles,
No worries,
And no cares.
I am in my own paradise,
My own Heaven.
We are the dolphins,
Even though we are ourselves.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem after listening to Enigma's song The Dream of the Dolphin. For me, some songs just spark a complete series of images in my mind, and that song was one of them. As the piano played, I saw the vision of standing on the rock and seeing dolphins, entranced with the pure beauty.
