A Child and the Faeries

by Sonya *cancer* - Not entered

The Faeries danced around her hips
The Faeries danced around her lips
She danced among the Faeries too
A Maiden pure and fair and true

To music only they could hear
She twirled and swayed and felt no fear
Without her mother's watchfull eye
She danced beneath a pale blue sky

From dawn 'till dusk she spent with Them
'Till mother called her home again
She ate her supper, went to bed
And Faeries slept beside her head

Reason for writing:

it came to me after reading William Blake's poetry and thinking of my own Childhood
