Summer Dreams

by The Maiden Poet - Not entered

Midst the shadowed grass of summer
on a hill above the sea,
the stars of heaven twinkling
as they guide my destiny.

A gentle breeze so soothing
caresses through the trees,
the sound of crickets singing
their echoed rhapsody.

The waters sparkling brightly
as the full moon comes to view,
life’s turbulence forgotten
my spirit now renewed.

The roar of distant thunder
as the waves roll into shore,
in the arms of one who loves me
Summer dreams forever more.
