Autumn

Autumn

                   Beauti-
                 ful places
                 filled with
               happy      faces;
         Autumn has arrived.
        The golden leaves fall
to the ground as ghosts and goblins
        gather round on their way
       home from parties at school.

          A Jack 'O Lantern grins
    As the night slowly falls.
   All the trick or treaters
are out to have a ball.
As I walk in the cold night air,
I find a peace in the world
               that is very rare.

A pumpkin pie bakes in the oven,
             and apple cider warms on
            the stove. The autumn wind
                settles around me
            and forms a private alcove.

        The distant call of winter
           gets closer every day. Soon,
             my autumn will be gone,
              and winter's silence
                 will take its
                     place.

Reason for writing:

I love the season, and I enjoy halloween a lot.
