Running from the morbid dream, screaming at myself to awaken. Running from the gruesome picture, yelling,This can't be so!. Running from the lonely eyes, feeling the pain I caused my family. Running from my fatal mistakes, asking for one more try. Running from my lifeless body, knowing that I should have cherished it more. Running from the cold black bag, watching the police cover my face. Running from the mangled car, hearing the deafening sound of crunching metal. Running from what I know was right, Thinking of that one last drink on my last night.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem after a very good friend of mine died in a drunk driving accident this summer. People never really think that they will be the one that dies or becomes paralyzed from something like this but it could be anybody. Thousands of innoscent people also die because of drunk drivers every year. You can not only hurt yourself but also your friends and family.Birth sign: Not entered
