Blank Slate

by Karilyn Kempton - Pisces - Not entered

The moon shines through my window pane,
For once in my life I'm completely sane.
My mind is free, my heart is clear
Of anger, pain, hate and fear.
You hurt me more than words can say,
You painted my world sad and gray.
But that's in the past and the past is done,
If you think about it, it's me who won.
You tried to hurt me, but I survived;
Now I'm free from you and I feel so alive.
You weren't a mistake, but what can I do;
You're all alone and I've found someone new.
I'm not filled with regret, anger or hate,
But I'm starting my life over, with a blank slate.

Reason for writing:

    My ex-boyfriend...I've found someone new now...someone who actually cares...
