She lies listening to the radio.
He's the only one that's on her mind.
She's hurting so much she can't even show
how much her heart is in an emotional bind.

A song comes on that causes her to cry.
The unstoppable tears she's crying is for him.
She picks up the phone and heaves a big sigh.
Should she put their friendship on a limb?

She decides anything would be better than what she's feeling
So she slowly dials the number she has memorized.
The tears are blinding her view of the ceiling.
As he answers teh phone she feels like she died.

Hey there. I just wanted to say I love you.
I care for you more than I can as a friend.
Please tell me that you love me too.
Please say you'll hold me until the end.

She feels so good now that she's admitted it.
A burden has been lifted from her chest.
Right now she doesn't regreat it a bit.
She holds her breath and waits for the best.

But everything now is going wrong,
as she hears him heave a sigh.
She thinks she should've known it all along.
She can't help but to cry.

His words are blocked by her sobbing.
She only hears pieces of what he's saying.
She feels like her heart he is robbing.
Her nerves he is fraying.

I think we should just be friends.
I'm not interested in you that way.
I hope that you I did not offend.
But friends is how I wish to stay.

She is shaking and crying more than before.
She knows this conversation now has to end.
She says goodbye-her heart is so sore.
But she knows eventually it will mend.

She huddles under her covers, she is so cold.
She tries her hardest to stop her tears.
She suddenly feels so old.
She has just faced her biggest fear.

She brings her hands up to her face.
Her mom comes in, but she wants to be alone.
She decided to handle this situation with grace.
Maybe she'll forget him now that her feelings shes' shown.
