Daddy Farewell

by Wendy Rae - Not entered

Daddy, Farewell

Sorrows filled the days on end
and wiped out smiles, laughs, and grins.

I weep over your grave, knelt and head bowed.
Asking how could this ever be allowed.

As I grasp the keys to your favorite old car,
I wish upon one lonely star.

I recall of the way you worked so hard,
to provide for your family...nothing unbarred.

Although we had our disagreements,
as daddies and daughter's often do,
I have never stopped loving you.

You'll be missed and your vision embraced.
My memories of you will never be erased.

The special times that we shared...
has shown me how much you cared...

Your Loving Daughter

Wendy Rae

Reason for writing:

Following the death of my father, I felt all alone.
I needed his guidence...and strenghth to pull me through.
I felt that writing this poem would let him know that I
would really miss him and that his memories would never be forgotten.
