The Moment Passes By

by 5.31003 - Not entered

I see a shadow walking
through the crowd towards me
and in the gesture of that walk
it's the certainty that I see.

In your eyes I see a purpose
that guides you in your stride
to be the best that you can be
and take credit for your pride.

A smile forms at your lips
as you move your eyes toward me
and all of a sudden you notice
I appreciate all of what I see.

We hold a stare for a moment
that doesn't want to end
then you nod your head to acknowledge
that you are saying good-bye to a friend.

As we walk past one another
your hand brushes mine
and for one historic moment
we both get lost in time.

When I realize that your gone
I start to think of you
of all your grace and splendor
and what it is that I should do.

Should I turn around and grab you
or let you walk on by
should I tell you that I Love you
or let the moment pass on by?
