This little tree might help you learn How nice giving can be. If everyday you'll choose a gift And give it to the tree. Each day reach in the little sack And take out one surprise. After a while the tree's gift to you Will appear before your eyes. At first so plain and kind of drab But as the time goes by. It's beauty shines from all the gifts And you're the reason why. For the more you give, the more you get. An important lesson you see. Especially when you give to people And not just a plastic tree.
Reason for writing:
My grandson is 1 year old and has Down Syndrome. He isn't allowed to have candy so an Advant Calendar was out of the questions. I decided to buy a small artificial Christmas tree to teach him about Christmas and giving. Each day he reaches into a little sack of ornaments, chooses one, and hangs it on the tree. By Christmas the tree will be very pretty because of the decorations he chose and gave it.Birth sign: Not entered
