Darkness All Around

by Dave Dozier - Not entered

as the light begins to shine
there is a slight refraction
another glass wall
in this struggle for peace
it has struck again
from the darkness all around
is it worth the fight
or just better off to sleep
the eternal sleep of death
easily attained
but at what cost
the light fades to black
and all hope is lost

Reason for writing:

when i wrote this i thought it was about death but then i realized it was actually about life without love, hope or happiness, which is far worse than death.
