The Onlooker

by Surgeman, Aquarian/Pisces cusp - Not entered

She lays so silently
Peacefuly in her bed.
Her hair shining in the mid-afternoon sunlight,
Her pale skin radiating her beauty,
The contour of her half naked body
£ying almost lifeless.
I reach my hand out to caress her soft cheek,
Yet I dare not for fear of her premature waking.
The songs of the birds outside her window is
The only sound slicing through the silence.
She moans in a dream that is vocalized harmoniously,
Beautifly.
And as she stirs I feel in my heart to rush to her
And guide her back to sleep,
But, wanting to converse with her,
I allow her to awaken.

Reason for writing:

Sitting at the side of my love's bed watching her sleep.
