Empty Eyes

by ShugiDoo MadCoyote - Not entered

What do you see written up in the sky
As you gaze into the depths with empty eyes?
Wasted dreams of a shadowed soul
Where once a heart, now only holes.

Little by little time wore you down
Running you slowly into the ground,
You lost your visions along the way
And now beauty just becomes decay.

You wanted so much to believe
That you'd be the one they couldn't decieve,
You use to think you were all you needed
Until the day you were defeated.

It took you sometime to realize
You'd become all you despised,
Stripped of pretense and you lies
And left only with a pair of empty eyes.

Reason for writing:

i wote this dribble because it was at a time when I truly started to know myself, a few years back. I submitted this piece because an insightful and surprisingly articulate leg of spicy cajun Bojangles fried chicken suggested I do so before I head into the mash potatoes...so here it is.
