The Game of Life There are times in all our lives When we’ve been thrown a curve Swing as we might, can’t seem to hit Solutions as they swerve We take each pitch so carefully And with our hearts do weigh The ifs, the buts, the maybe whens There must be another way Your heart is yelling swing the bat Your head has called strike one Your friends are saying run to first’’ Not sure what should be done You close your eyes and say a prayer And swing with all your might You hope the choices that you make Will all turn out all right. And you may only get a hit Or maybe a home run Could slide at 2nd, get tagged out And have regrets before it’s done But stand up tall , brush off yourself There’s always new beginnings Cause unlike baseball, life can give us More than just 9 innings.
