THE GRAVES BY Patricia Ann Reilly

She is at her father's grave this day
He has finally passed to his just rewards
Or, more accurately, to his just punishment.
She could not tell him she forgave him -- for he never
Admitted any wrong --nor asked for pardon
For the torture and abuse he so willingly performed,
So she leave it up to God to judge him.

He is laid in the ground with her mother--
The day she died was the best day of her life
She was only seventeen at the time--
Her mom wanted the girl to commit suicide and die before she did,
She told her she didn't deserve to live,
She slapped sleeping pills into her hand to take--
She threatened to come back from the grave if she didn't!

And so, mom and dad, they deserve to be together--
For what mother would participate and
Even instigate those unspeakable acts against their daughters?
Not that their sons escaped the abuse,
There was enough evil between her mom and dad for all of them.
And so,she spits on their graves and leave them to rot together
both in the earth and in hell.
