The path he chose Was to stomp on a rose And crush its petals into the ground The rose had been a gift The foot he did lift And alas only soil was found. An agreement was made And over time it did fade As all things must come to an end He tried to hide it And doesn't think we'll survive it But all wounds will eventually mend. One sweet request made not to scale By he who believes the bond to fail The lifelong test Filtering out the pain Our outlook we must change And repair our broken nest. Just a little more time For these thoughts of mine And I'll come up with a deal Looking for something new I want to change my point of view It will take awhile to heal.
