In a universe where anything is possible In a world where science makes the rules In a country where the elected government manipulates it’s own people In a state where conservation is failing In a city where fear is seeping in In a household where we have to lock the doors In a body that will never be perfect Inside a little mind where great ideas aren’t good enough Exploring a thought of peace and love That everyday I am told is crazy So why even try to unite the young and old Or the poor with the wealthy Why try to bring the drug dealer to the volunteer center I was taught not to think of peace But to prepare for war Just another popped bubble Inside our starving minds And why do we even bother with money When we all will get what’s coming to us Or should we just wait in fear Until it’s too late Like the new skates That were too pretty to skate with Sitting up in your closet Next to your brain Why do our schools teach us to be machines And to recite the answers on call Just like my computer at home And they say they’re teaching us Well they are They’re teaching us that thinking for yourself Shouldn’t be an option And that you’ll never have to use your imagination “In the real world” Well now we wont need to Are you happy now?
