Dead Skin Falling Like Burnt Grass

by Heaven Leigh--Aries - Not entered

It is you in your heavenly essence
And a love as pure as my own,
That I can practically touch
In a melodramatic film in my mind's eye
Viewing, viewing until nothing is left
To be seen.
(He smiled at her and left me bleeding)

As the lights appeared in their dramatic fashion
Ever tranquil in their own religion,
We watched on as his God-like presence
Filled our hearts, kneeling-reeking insignificance.
Marching on in a somber celebration
Humming myself a little ditty
For the sake of a sanity
Ever so discreetly hidden, as to protect my Messiah

Reason for writing:

A guy I've been infatuated with for over a year now inspired the first half. The second half is about how incredible an experience Midnight Mass is....completely powerful--even if you're not religious
