Diachronic Verses

by Joe - Taurus - Not entered

Serenity
As the river winds its way
Down the tireless path
And teardrops fall in
Rememberance of past lives

Calming
wind claws at the fabric that is
Our life and mountains push
Past their strangled keep.

Flowing
Thoughts bring to light a
Friendship and closeness as
Dawn wraps her spidery web
Over the ageless past.

Fiery
Explosions portray a new day as the
Weather awakens a pure experience.

But the lives linger as
Lives tend to do.
For we cannot
Forget the past
Lest our mistakes
Cause pain in the present or
Hurt in the future.

The winding river pulses
Towards the sea as the gentle
Wind washes over me.

And I slip evermore
Into the life that is my
Future.

Reason for writing:

The beauty of the Pecos River Valley in northern New Mexico caused pause for reflection. This poem is the result.
