Heavenly Passage

by Michael (INTJ) - Not entered

In stark sadness, I sit.
Fate’s cruel fist slowly squeezes the life out of me.
In agony, I count each second of time I must silently endure,
This miserable existence I call my life.

Like a comet, you entered my world!
A brilliant, glowing star, exploding into my space-time.
Your coming, I thought, portended a joyous new beginning.
A talisman of the new era of love and happiness, ’till death do us part.

Like a comet, you passed so tantalizingly close.
But like all heavenly bodies, you traveled just beyond the
reach of this poor mortal’s touch.

In stark sadness, I sit.
Surrounded, haunted by the memories that swirl around me,
Like the cloud of cosmic dust that trails your majestic passage through my universe.

I weep, as I watch you disappear, once again, into the darkness from whence you came.
Your heavenly passage, oblivious to the effect you had on this insignificant worshiper.

I weep, knowing that in my lifetime, you will not pass this way again.
