Abandon Hope

ABANDON HOPE

Abandon hope all ye who enter here,
And leave your rucksacks at the freshold please;
And let me note: no smoking and no bear!
Put on the slippers and proceed at ease.
Just look around, this flame red flickering
Is fed with wood of finest earthly trees:
Both excellent and frightening a thing.
But let us visit now some other rooms.
Look there, here comes Mephisto on a wing,
He's brought us some new souls from brand new tombs;
Pay close attention, these are nicely wrought
And reared in sweet marijuana fumes.
    But let us on, they're not much food for thought:
    Next chamber it is something you've just sought.
