WHO KNOWS Who knows a song that would be fit to sing When winter's come in all its pride and prime? Who knows a hymn or any decent rhyme To bid the frost farewell and welcome spring? When summer, a butterfly apon a wing, Arrives, what should be said or sung this time? When fall is born of leaves and winds sublime, With what a weird should we come up a thing? What can be said when men die of ols age? And what if Death knocks on the door of youth? Does anybody know the answer, know the truth? One has it written down but lost the page Among his notes concerning gains and debts. The other's learned it, knows it but forgets.
