untitled

by Jason Ferguson - Not entered

She kisses me with her eyes as
final
good-byes and promises fly into the stormy morning
of clouds and birds singing sad songs while
the earth groans and moves with compassion

no more
will the sun sing of our grace as one soul
lives in two bodies now torn apart
no more
will the silkensoft yellow rivers flow through
my fingers and caress my neck in simple adoration
no more
will she love me

heart sung songs sweetly sound in the silence
of the tragic wind
the holiest of holies torn in half and our
hearts sting with the touch of the
bittercrisp air
the screams rise and rise and rise to fill the
deadness with their unanswered prayers and
shattered hopes and lost dreams among the
shadows

I once sailed calm seas
I once walked a straight path
I once held the hand of love
I once touched heaven
I once was not alone
when she kisses me with her eyes

Reason for writing:

left a good friend in Texas when I moved....
