Good EnoughI

by Arielle - Not entered

A vision of a sunny day
 imbedded in your mind
As the sun shines a bright glow
on everything she touches
You long to be covered in her warm embrace
basking in her light
while I run for cover
So forgetful of her infidelity
the unpredictability of it all makes it even more appealing
perhaps because it leaves you craving for more
begging, almost
like a child
Though you will find that too much of a good thing can be harmful

And yet, a rainy day
though just as beautiful
is so easily forgotten
bringing disappointment
and sorrow to all who witness it
you feel trapped within the confines of your tiny space
envelopped by a blanket of darkness
that makes you cower in fear of disappearing
you shun its eager touch
as if its drops of perfectly clear wetness
 might burn your delicate skin
because you are not used to such poison

Why do you not embrace the rain
as I do
letting the tears from heaven
mesh with my own
covering my naked body
with its gentle touch
as it gives life to everything it reaches
within
it ignites a beauty that outshines the sun

a beauty you will never be able to comprehend
a love you do not deserve to be given
