The Raging Storm.

by Iris/Virgo - Not entered

Sacred were you to my heart,
My weakened soul did you rend apart.
The tears spilled endlessly, liquid shards of glass staining my cheeks . . .
You looked down upon me, your gaze distant and bleak.
Roaring were the Heavens above, only a fractioned essence of my breaking heart . . .
And only then did I fall to my knees at your feet, apologizing for my innocent part . . .
Darkness stretched infinite across the sky,
Merely reflecting the empty void consuming me from inside . . .
The thunder bellowed the instant you turned your back on me,
My heart finally shattered, falling into the depth of my soul, damned for all eternity.
In defeated shame I lowered my head,
And at that moment, the clouds began to weep, not another word was said . . .
Without a backward glance, from me you stepped away . . .
From that trice thereafter were my nights marked as cold, and dark to be the rest of my days.

Reason for writing:

What inspiried me and the reason for writing this poem is clearly evident in the poem. Loss of a loved one? Or heartbreak?
Being able to express my feelings during the most crucial times of my life comes out best in my poetry. And the reasons for
wanting to submit it is simply because I would like others to read and or comment on my poetry.. Those types of things
inspire me to write more.
