Please Don't

by Sheila Hightower-Allen **LEO** - Not entered

Please don't let me know you...
knowing can be too very revealing.

Please don't let me want you...
wanting you can be too consuming.

Please don't let me believe in you...
I might get hurt by one of your many lies.

Please don't me love you...
loving can be so full of pain.

Please don't let me hold you...
I may not want to set you free.

Please don't...

Reason for writing:

A old relationship that was so very painful. As I type this poem into the computer I can still remember the intensity of
the pain I felt more than thirty years ago.
