Liquor

by Douglas J. Gallagher - Not entered

The tingling flavor on my tongue
Tastes so bitter sweet
It burns its way on down my throat
With such intensive heat.

The torment fades and all's begun
False feelings take their place
Hate moves deep throughout my veins
Fear fades away with grace.

Happiness fulfills my heart
As I stumble to the floor
Stupidity then takes its shape
And I begin to drink some more.

Blackness fills my mind from there
For my mind can not recall
Darkness seems to take its form
As good times turn and fall

Reason for writing:

For all the dreadful temptations of my life...
...this one's for you.
