Waterfall

by Douglas J. Gallagher - Not entered

Its raining so hard
Beneath the falls
One can hear screams
As each droplet calls

They rush to the edge
To play a quick game
God is the dealer
And gives out no fame

Down the drops jump
One by one
Nothing to stop them
Once all's said and done

They take their lives
And plunge down deep
Away from old friends
To an endless sleep

Their running has ended
As their lives fade away
Their last leap of fate
Was a cruel price to pay

Each droplet now rests
At the foot of the falls
Such a price to pay
For sights admired by all
Birth sign: Not entered
