Way back home

by Edward Chen - Not entered

When I pushed my forehead against the cool, vibrating
window,
feeling it buzz over my face,
and watching the world flash by.
The night was covered with clouds,
couldn't even see a star.
As the only one left in the bus, likewise,
trying to subdue feeling about loneliness.
I can scarcely hear my thinkings, as the bus accelerating,
people passed by,
wandering, driving, walking, stumbling,
The streets are busy and grey,
for the dancing twilights playing over the cars.
My eyes were dazed at the different faces.
Frown, smiling, laughing.
Fancy dresses and grimy ones don't match anymore.

The overwhelming quietness conquered my mind,
along with the heavy steps that I took echoing against the wall.
Suddenly, the water on the ground starting to bounce,
as the rain came down.
My body shivered when the raindrops trickled on my face.
Abruptly, everything stopped, for this irresistible
sound of piano,
and I stopped!
in the middle of the road,
The whole world stopped!
For it was so pure, innocent, and calm.
But inside, it was screaming.

                                       Edward
