You said we would last forever, or more like forever and a day. You said that you would never leave, You said you'd always stay. But now I see forever, has ended yesterday. The things you said were so believable, That you and me splitting was unimaginable. How could I let myself get hurt In so many different ways, I think it was because of you, saying forever and a day. Now my dream is over of you and me together, because forever ended and now it's rainy weather. The sun no longer shines, The birds no longer sing because forever ended and your on to better things. But I am left behind, in this world of broken hearts. I am left behind, Since we split apart. I am the one whose left to heal as you move on ahead. You move on to better things, but I am left for dead. Forever and a day. What was that you say, Forever had no meaning, for it ended yesterday. Maybe I'll go on, or maybe stay behind. I don't know what to do. My life is in a bind. Forever, it means nothing. It's just a word, no more. My life is filled with Forevers. but forever ended yesterday, so forever is no more.
Reason for writing:
First I would like to thank all of my friends who help encourage me to write more poems. Also they are my critics, so if it's not good enough for them, it certainly isn't good for others. The person who inspired me to write this was obviously my ex boyfriend. He was the one who left me wounded, and this is how I expressed it. I am now over him, but other relationships that my friends go through also inspire me to write more poems about love, and love gone wrong. I hope to submit more poems here soon.
