If It Weren't For You

by Kristen Karls (virgo) - Not entered

You say we'll last forever,
and I know your words are true.
Because I know I love you,
and I know you love me too.

The things you know about me,
and what I know of you,
Will forever be a secret,
because of my love for you.

There are the things that we have shared,
That no one else will know.
Like that night down by the beach,
or that really touching show.

I remember when we met,
by that fountain near the bank.
My eyes were filled with tears,
and yours were plain and blank.
You noticed me all teary eyed,
and you asked me what was wrong.
I had almost comitted suicide,
because of a life gone wrong.

But that's not what I told you,
I lied to you instead.
I told you that my grandpa was almost nearly dead.

Now that we are closer,
and now that you are mine.
I would like to tell you
That it was my life on the line.

It wasn't anyone elses,
My grandpa wasn't dead.
I would like to tell you,
That if it weren't for you,
I'd be dead instead.

Reason for writing:

There's really no particular reason why I wrote this. I just like telling of trageties, and happy endings. Things like this are the things I like to read, so I express things that I hear from other people, or things of myself in poetry. Please email me with your comments.
