crossed lines

i dreamed a dream
and wished a wish
that i was there with you,
but things didn't 
go my way.
aren't dreams suppost to come true?
i said all my prayers-
five times everyday.
i wished on stars
and wishing wells,
but i guess it didn't pay.
then things started
looking up,
my dreams were comming true.
so i blew out all the candles,
and i wished for me and you.
but the lines
somehow got crossed
and my precious dreams were gone.
then she somehow recieved them,
now she's with you,
where i belong.
now, it's you and her together,
where you and i should be.
and together, it's you and her
when it should be you and me.
i guess it only gets easier,
maybe it won't be long,
when i'll get a second chance
to be with you
where I belong.
