The Light

The Light
Written through Joy amid Sorrow
		I sit and wait,
		in a room
		with the faint humming
		of the air conditioner
in harmony with my heart beat.

		Pink bed spread
		lies crumpled on the
		stone white tiled floor.
		Einstein’s picture staring
		out from the wall.

A picture of the moon in the universe
		blinks into reality.
		I’m united with my surroundings.
		Then, my mind drifts
away from the world of matter,
		into the realm of paradise,
		into the atmosphere of
		calmness and innocence.

		I gently float
over the golden sounds of bells.
		They dance and ring,
		with notes so harmonious.

		Feeling safe and carefree,
		I float towards the Light.
		Forgetting about the time,
		when loneliness tries to harm,
tries to torture and tries to win.
For now I can only feel,
		in that luminous Light,
		the power of Cosmic Love.

The Love carries me in its
		invisible hands
		over into a garden
		where flowers only bloom,
where robins sing their sweet love songs
		under a rainbow of hopes.

		My hands become alive, and
they reach out towards the Light,
		the Light that once was
		only a candle that
		now and then annihilates
		some darkness in my heart.

But now this Light is becoming stronger,
		each and every day.
It lights up inside my heart,
		till the heart glows with
		love and understanding.

		My lips move softly
and with new hopes and appreciations,
it quietly says, “ Creator, life truly is a special gift from you.”

		For now , this soul
that once lived in the haunted
		darkness of fear,
		finally discovers that life
is a gift for us all to
		find joy and happiness from.
		Fully clean and born anew,
I float back into the matter realm.
The blooming flowers, blend in with the
		 robins and their love songs,
		into the rainbow of hopes.

Mixed colors of gold and silver,
		silently twirl around me
		as I rise up ........
		And up.

		Back in the room,
		I gaze out the window
as rain pours down from paradise,
washing away old thoughts of doubts,
until it all becomes a deep memory
for me to look back at.

		As night enters the picture,
I look up into the sky,
		watching as the stars
		blink and twinkle
		with new promises of success.

		Now the door opens
for me to continue my steps upwards
		and I feel grateful,
for now I have found the key.

We are all each a child of the Universe.

Reason for writing:

This was actually a piece of work that I was required to submit into my seventh grade English class. It was an early sunday morning that I wrote this poem and finished it within an hour's time. I decided to submit this poem to Cyberpoem because I would like to give encouragements to those who feel that life seems worthless and bleak. I wish to remind them that where sorrow lies, joy can always be found. It is up to the one to feel the need, the desire to seek for the light. Remember that the sun is always there, even when clouds are blocking it. I really wish that this poem will bring joy, fulfillment, and purpose into the hearts of those who feel that they may not be helped. I hope that the love expressed in the poem will dip itself into all who has past wounds and that this love will heal the wounds with its radiant touch of warmth. The truth is that everyone one can be helped, and everyone can be healed, for it is never too late. One only needs to feel the urgent desire to seek out the truth.
