the dance

by falcon - Not entered

the lights dim, the music slows
somehow she ends up next to you
into your open arms she falls
feels so perfect, having her there
she lays her head on your shoulder
there never was a better use for it
your bodies touching in every possible place
turning in slow circles, seeing nothing beyond
the world stopped for this one moment
your hands gently caressing her back
passion overflowing with every move
wanting to be next to her forever
wondering if she feels the same
how could this be happening?
is it a dream that this girl is in my arms?
your mouth forming the words i love you
but no sound comes out
will she remember you tomorrow?
will you ever be able to call her your own?
the dance is ending and she straightens up
your body becomes cold where she used to be
she smiles up at you, warming your heart
a single tear forms in your eye
and then she walks away

Reason for writing:

    it is kind of obvious
