The Sweet Hereafter

by Rebecca Libra - Not entered

The sweet hereafter comes from
behind the cerulean hues.
Many memories inside of me,
upon which happiness ensues.
Looking up above the forest,
I feel the strength and familiarity of the trees.
And kneeling down touching the earths soil,
I feel the silence of the deceased.
Dew drops kissing the soil,
renewing the lives that once lived beneath.
Looking at you, my heart overflows
with a fire that lives so sweet.
And the life I live with you will always
be...into the hereafter...

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem for my boyfriend for his birthday because
I had no money to buy him a gift...I thought this was the
next best thing...my feelings for him were priceless...
