The future of man Remains to be the question He has experienced many things Each with it's very own lesson From his first day of flight To his giant step on the moon His destiny is still uncertain His destruction maybe too soon Man has learned to keep things near That which he considers to be sacred But he has forgotten one of these treasures How to use love instead of hatred For he has constantly created new ways To destroy his fellow man Jeopardizing his very own existence But this he does not understand So he continues to build his weapons In hopes to one day conquer the world While destroying what is most precious to him Every woman, child, boy and girl Man is constantly seeking fortune His only goal is to achieve great wealth But some of the decisions he is now making May soon threaten his very own health Man cannot continue to ignore All of the problems that we now face For it was him who created this problem And it is up to him to make this problem erase Man has defeated many of his enemies His wrath they have all seen or felt But he has failed to defeat his worst enemy of all And that just maybe..........himself. Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem in hopes that it would be read by many people. My objective in this poem is to make it's readers realize that we cannot continue to destroy each other be it physical or enviormental. Man must learn from his mistakes and not continue to repeat them. We must all make this world a better place for our children.Birth sign: Not entered
