Everlasting Sunset

by virgo - Not entered

It's softness, caressing the sky, gave you a warm welcome feeling.
At one moment it was so bold so bright, and the next, gentle and romantic. Refreshing and relaxing.
This picture-perfect moment reminded you of when you were youger.
Running barefoot through the summer's warm, soft grass.
Trying to discourage your frustrated mother as she beckoned you back into the house.
You now think of what is to come.NIGHT.
 After this magical moment.
It's coldness, briskness, it's force of darkness.
It's so haughting and at the same time enchanting.
But then you stop these harsh thoughts for realize that that wonderful moment is over.
It is night.
And yet you don't feel cold and empty.
You feel warm and full of magic.
For you have just experienced an everlasting sunset.
Everlasting in your heart, and everchanging in your mind.

Reason for writing:

I had been out in my backyard, swinging on an old swing. It was getting close to sunset, (not quite yet) and I started to think about when I was younger and how I was always facinated with sunsets. And I saw a parallel between that beautiful time of day, and how I was growing and maturing.
With that in mind, I started to write and this poem is the outcome of that.
