Days of innocence are gone Children’s laughter ceases to roll on Twenty-two shots fired Five lives expired Four little souls Never to grow old Never again to play For in the ground they lay Never to realize their fate Never to have a date Never to attend their prom Never to move on To young to experience hate To young to ever appreciate Voices of joy Now lay silent Caused by two who became violent There is one other now out of sight Who’s soul is in God’s light The Jonesboro teacher, Shannon Wright Who placed her self in harms way So a sixth grader could live past that day
