I'm Not a Victim

by Kacey - Aries - Not entered

We no longer fit, I've known for a while,
The passion is gone, but we're left with a child.
It's hard to admit that it happened to us,
And you won't let go without making a fuss.
So we keep on living a shell of a life,
You act like a husband; I act like a wife.
We eat and sleep, we work and live.
You take and take, I give and give.
I'm not a victim; I'm here by choice,
But the day is coming when I'll find my voice.
And then I will speak out loud and clear -
The charade is over - I'm outta here!!

Reason for writing:

This was written toward the end of an 8 year relationship.
I just recently re-found it, and realized that it was RIGHT on the point...
